Labour and Trade Union freedom in Equatorial Guinea

The drawing up of this report is within the framework of CCOO?s Fundación Paz y Solidaridad co-operation programme, aimed at supporting the development of a democratic trade union movement in Equatorial Guinea as an important part for an essential and immediate democratisation of the country. The authors are well aware of the situation in Guinea. One of the questions that this study gives a full answer to is why there are no trade unions despite the fact that laws have been passed that allow their existence and Guinea has eventually ratified ?in 2001- ILO?s main conventions on freedom to organise and trade union rights.
